How long have you been in business?
16 years. We opened our doors in 1999.
What is your primary product or service?
Open MRI's. We have an open-sided MRI scanner for those who are too claustrophobic to use a traditional MRI scanner.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am a radiologist. I first began considering an open MRI facility when I saw first hand how many war veterans were having extreme difficulty with completing a closed MRI exam due to PTSD and claustrophobia issues. I decided there needed to be a place that could help these people and the many others who deal with similar issues.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There is not another true open-sided scanner anywhere near this area. We have many patients who drive for hours, from northern Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa to use our facility.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have only the one location in Middleton. When we first opened we were located on Madison's east side. As technology progressed, we were able to purchase a newer, stronger scanner and because of that we needed to find a new site. We carefully chose the Middleton location so that we could be in the hub of the many other medical facilities in Madison, for patient's convenience.

We are located at 8309 Greenway Blvd. in Middleton, WI. Greenway Blvd. has it's own exit off the West Madison beltline (Exit 252). The West beltline is Hwy. 12/14. We are 1 block off the beltline, at the intersection of Greenway Blvd. and John Q. Hammons Drive. The building that we are located in is a two story business building called Pond II. To reach our parking lot, take a Left onto John Q. Hammons Dr. and then the first possible Right, which will be the driveway into our parking lot. You will see a large brown sign that says Pond II, 8309 Greenway Blvd. right where you turn to enter our parking lot. There is a large Midwest Open MRI sign on the John Q. Hammons side of the building. We are in Suite 100, first floor, just inside the front doors.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept many types of insurance, cash, check or credit card.
Which areas do you service?
We service patients from all over Wisconsin, as well as Iowa, Illinois ...
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Our facility is privately owned by a group of radiologists'. We have a certified MRI technologist, a Nurse Practitioner, Business Manager, Asst. Business Manager, and scheduling/insurance staff who oversee our daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
Currently, we are open Monday 7:00-3:00, Tuesday 7:00-5:00, Wednesday 8:00-2:00, Thursday 7:00-5:00 and Friday 7:00-3:00.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Just to see the relief in their eyes and the smile on their face pretty much says it all. So many of our patients are truly grateful that they were able to complete their MRI scan and finally get a medical diagnosis for their symptoms. We often receive compliments that our staff is patient, soothes their anxiety, and is able to take the time they need to make it through this stressful or painful experience.
