What is your primary product or service?
We offer landscape consultation, landscape design and outdoor decorating services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a child I designed many 'landscapes' with blocks, rocks and any outdoor materials I could find. When I was seven I designed my first perennial garden and my passion grew from there. Throughout my high school years I worked in different areas of the landscape industry and found a strong passion for landscape design. After graduation I attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture with a secondary major in Environmental studies. Following graduation I wanted to pursue residential design and had a desire to use my learned and natural skills to bring something new to the landscape market. Thus I founded Homestead Designs, LLC in 2015. Holistic, sustainable design is my main focus as that utilizes my passion and education best.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Homestead Designs is not your 'typical' landscape business. Our business is in landscape design so our focus is providing you with a design that goes beyond standard. Since our efforts are not in 'selling' you the installation we can focus on each and every detail, which makes a landscape design a great design. We also take a different approach than most in providing holistic design, so each of our designs offer more than a design of your outdoor space. We think about the architecture of your home, how you are utilizing the space, what your goals are, what materials best suite the overall goal of your project, and design of the space in its entirety. The design does not end at a planting or hardscape design; it includes site furnishings and the details that make your space feel like home.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We desire to stay a small company with one location as we feel we can then have a more personal relationship with our clients.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept credit, check or cash.
Which areas do you service?
The Madison Area
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Matt and Brit McCoy are the owners, Brit heads up daily operations.
